What Do Volunteers Do?
The Recyclery is primarily run by volunteer labor. Volunteers fix bicycles, teach youth bicycle maintenance and safety, and take groups of kids on bike trips. We welcome experienced mechanics as well as those who have never changed a tire. We encourage volunteers to use their gifts in whatever ways will best contribute to the Recyclery's mission.
What Do Collective Members Do?
Volunteers who put in regular hours and demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the Recyclery are invited to become collective members. We expect collective members to take on more responsibilities than regular volunteers. Collective members participate in decision-making and shape the future of the Recyclery at regular meetings. They may receive stipends for taking on extra responsibilities.
Why Volunteer?
Recyclery volunteers have the satisfaction of rescuing bicycles from the trash and transforming them into a sustainable form of transportation. We get to work with youth and have a positive impact on the neighborhood. We are also constantly sharing bicycle mechanic skills with each other and learning together. Join our community of volunteers and become a part of the Recyclery vision.
Is Volunteering Fun?
